My Solution
An enterprise-grade AI Orchestration Engine that acts as an intelligent proxy between your applications and global Foundation Models. Dronzer inspects every API request, understands what task you're actually trying to do, and dynamically routes to the optimal LLM from a pool of 45+ providers (OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Groq, Gemini, Mistral, and more).
Instead of hardcoding a single API or managing multiple provider integrations, you point your application at Dronzer and get intelligent routing, bulletproof failover, and centralized API key management—all while maintaining 100% OpenAI API compatibility.
The Problem We Solved
Vendor Lock-in
Traditional AI apps rely on a single provider. If OpenAI raises prices or changes their roadmap, you're stuck. If you want to switch providers, it's a complete rewrite.
API Downtime = Product Downtime
One provider outage = your entire product is offline. No fallback. No failover. Users see errors. Your on-call engineer doesn't sleep.
Wasted Spend
You're paying $15 for GPT-4 reasoning when a $0.20 Groq model would've done the job. Using expensive vision models for simple image classification. No intelligence in your routing.
No Task Intelligence
All requests go through the same static endpoint. No understanding of what the request actually needs (vision, coding, reasoning, JSON mode). No optimization.

Technical Architecture
Extension (TypeScript + Node.js)
Backend Gateway (FastAPI + Python)
- Detects required capabilities: json_mode, vision, reasoning, coding
- Routes only to models with matching capability classes
- Catches provider exceptions (429 rate limits, 500 errors, timeouts)
- Queues request to next healthy provider in fallback stack
- Transparent to end-user (no error visible)
asyncpg for non-blocking database I/ODatabase (PostgreSQL + SQLAlchemy)
Control Plane Dashboard (Next.js 16 + React + Tailwind CSS)
Deployment (Docker + Enterprise Security)

Key Features & Capabilities
1. 🧠 Task-Aware Decision Intelligence
Every API call is a data point. Dronzer's decision engine inspects the payload:
Result: No wasted compute. Optimal model per task. Automatic selection.
2. 🛡️ Bulletproof Provider Failover
Provider failures are inevitable. Network hiccups happen. Rate limits get hit. Dronzer handles it invisibly:
3. 🔌 Universal OpenAI Compatibility
Dronzer mimics the standard OpenAI API structure perfectly. No new SDK to learn:
/v1/chat/completions, /v1/embeddings, /v1/images/generationsopenai.base_url = "https://your-dronzer-instance/v1"4. 🎨 Minimalist Control Plane UI
Beautiful, intuitive dashboard for non-technical and technical users:
5. 💰 Intelligent Cost Optimization
Task-aware routing doesn't just pick the right model — it picks the cheapest model that can do the job:
6. 🔐 Enterprise Security

Why Dronzer Matters
For Individual Developers
Stop relying on a single provider's uptime. Use the cheapest provider that fits your task. Deploy once, access 45+ models.
For Growing Startups
Build AI features without vendor lock-in. Scale costs predictably with intelligent routing. Never wake up to a provider outage taking your product offline.
For Enterprise Teams
Multi-tenant dashboard for teams. Centralized API key management. Audit logs for compliance. Fallback stacks for mission-critical workloads.

The Engineering Insight
The core insight: Don't pick a model upfront. Analyze the request. Pick the model.
Traditional approaches hardcode client.model = "gpt-4o" globally. Dronzer inspects the payload, understands what capabilities are needed (json_mode, vision, reasoning), and selects the cheapest model capable of handling it.
This is what intelligent systems do. Dronzer brings that principle to LLM orchestration.
